Studio Legale BDL is composed of approximately fifteen lawyers, including several permanent of counsel, in addition to apprentice lawyers, administrative collaborators and secretarial staff.
The Firm has offices in Rome and Milan and maintains stable relationships with foreign law firms, in particular in France, Spain and the United States (East and West Coasts).
The Firm currently operates in Italian, English, French and Spanish.
Pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree n. 231/2001, Firm lawyers are also members of administrative bodies and Supervisory Boards of renowned companies operating in the real estate, financial, insurance brokerage and sporting sectors.
The Firm’s Clients, both national and international, include medium to large-sized companies and credit institutions, and, traditionally, also Agencies and Public Authorities.
In particular, among the Clients are Italian and multinational companies which operate – also in a concession regime – in a variety of fields including the sectors of collective asset management, high technology and engineering, energy, infrastructure and transportation, communication, financial leasing, tourism and hotels, construction, pharmaceutical and sports.
The Firm regularly assists its clients in court actions, arbitrations, and extra-judicial settlements, in all the main areas of law.
The main fields of practice of the Firm
CIVIL LAW
The Firm regularly advises and represents clients in civil law (and, specifically, in the area of professional responsibility), both with respect to extra-judicial settlements and traditional litigation actions, in judicial proceedings and arbitration.
COMMERCIAL LAW
The Firm routinely advises and represents Clients in all fields of business law and more broadly, in matters of private and public law of the economy.
BANKING AND FINANCIAL INTERMEDIARY LAW
The Firm is highly specialized in the banking and financial intermediary area, also in the regulatory field, specifically with respect to: (i) financing and debt restructuring operations; (ii) divestment and debt securitization operations; (iii) bank contracts; (iv) leasing contracts; (v) requirements provided by the regulatory framework of the Banca d’Italia and Consob (the Italian Companies and Exchange Commission).
COMPETITION AND CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW
Studio Legale BDL assists and advises on the subject of competition legislation, including assisting clients before the Italian Market Competition Authority and the Communications Authority. The Firm has also gained a high level of experience in assisting companies in the proceedings concerning agreements, mergers and abuse of a dominant position, as well as for proceedings for unfair commercial practices.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, TELECOMMUNICATIONS, PUBLISHING AND ON-LINE ACTIVITY
The Firm has gained considerable experience and specialization in national and international contracts concerning Information Technology activities, integrated services and infrastructural management of information technology, telecommunications services, publishing and the data transmission network, as well as in contracts regarding services and on-line activities. In this context, the Firm has assisted some of the most important groups operating in telecommunications (including internet), publishing groups, national and international service providers for information technology, including assisting clients in relations with the Supervisory Authorities.
ENERGY LAW
The Firm has gained specific experience in the energy sector, assisting and advising on legal issues with respect to the traditional generation, transmission and distribution of energy, in addition to matters regarding so-called, renewable sources.
In this context, the Firm has provided judicial and extra-judicial assistance and counsel to the most important operators and energy service companies.
REAL ESTATE LAW
The Firm carries out assistance and consultancy in the field of real estate law (in particular in favor of real estate investment funds) relating to all operations of management, divestment and valuation of real estate assets.
CORPORATE CRISIS AND COMPANY RESTRUCTURING LAW
The Firm assists companies both in the context of negotiation procedures of the crisis and in traditional insolvency procedures. The Firm has taken part in numerous and important restructuring operations.
URBAN PLANNING LAW
The Firm advises and counsels in the fields of administrative law and public economic law. The Firm assists clients before the relevant national Authorities and regulatory institutions. In particular, the Firm has gained considerable experience in the field of public procurement, public works, as well as urban planning law.
PHARMACEUTICAL LAW
Studio Legale BDL advises on pharmaceutical law. In particular, the Firm carries out extra-judicial and judicial assistance, on behalf of leading pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical distribution companies, which includes navigating the relationship with the regulatory authorities of the sector, in relation to all the issues pertaining to the various phases involving complex processes of experimentation, marketing authorizations, determination of drug prices, the SSN (Italian National Health Service) reimbursement regime and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
SPORTS LAW
The Firm has extensive experience in contractual assistance in support of soccer clubs, with particular reference to the acquisition, management and the exploitation of related rights, and first and foremost, audiovisual rights.
CITIZENSHIP LAW
The Firm counsels and advises, also before the courts, on petitions for the acquisition or recognition of Italian citizenship by foreign citizens (by iure sanguinis, marriage or residence) and on issues related to the transmission of citizenship through the maternal line pre-1948.
EMPLOYMENT LAW, CRIMINAL LAW AMD TAX LAW
The Firm, with the contribution of professionals of counsel, assists and counsels, both judicially and extra-judicially, in the fields of employment law, tax law, company criminal law, including matters regulated by Italian Legislative Decree n. 231/2001, with specific reference to the activity of preparation, revision and the updating of the Organization, Management and Control Models, as well as support and assistance to Supervisory Bodies.
